Supporting babies in Wandsworth to have the best start in life

Originally launched to support vulnerable young parents, including those under 21 and parents, the scheme is now being extended through the borough’s Access for All initiative to reach a wider group of families.

This initiative is part of Wandsworth’s ongoing commitment to removing barriers and ensuring equal access to vital early years support. The Baby Box itself forms only a small segment of the support provided through this scheme.

When a new family is given a Baby Box, they will be introduced to their local Family Hub where they will meet a Family Hub Connector that will stay in touch with the family throughout the child’s early years.

The Family Hub Connectors offer support and guidance as well as signpost to services. They will also be helping parents to access the right services and support available to them (e.g. Healthy Start Vouchers).
